NIU STEM Cafe: R2D2 and You: How Star Wars Droids are Shaping Robotics and Human-Robot Interactions, 9 pm, 6:30 p.m.-8:30 p.m.
From C3PO to BB-8, the droids of Star Wars are some of the most heroic and human characters in a galaxy far far away. Join us to discuss how robots in our galaxy are becoming less like the Deep Blue chess computer and more like R2D2.
NIU’s Dr. Briannon Coller and Dr. David Gunkel will discuss artificial intelligence, advances in robotics and humanity’s social and ethical responsibilities toward our robot brothers and sisters.
