Dave Tamkin Trio w/Dickie, 9 pm, No Cover Show
Chicago Singer/Songwriter, Dave Tamkin, has created his own unique style of rhythmic-acoustic rock that’s based around a fresh musical vision. His shows encapsulate a mixture of personal lyrics and skilled songwriting set against a high-energy percussive backbone.
He’s shared the stage with Guster, The Samples, Rusted Root, Freddy Jones Band, Eric Hutchinson, Willy Porter, The Violent Femmes, and Peter Mulvey.
Veteran tunesmith Dick Prall has taken his wares and shared them with violinist Kristina Priceman to create a collection of dark, gorgeous, and oft-times moody sing-alongs. Matching Prall’s personal experience with Priceman’s ability to emphasize the storylines with surgical beauty. He lived them, and she punctuates those truths. Her string arrangements – even her voice – wrap around his biographical narrative as endearing support to the misfortune he so attractively delivers.
