Why do golf balls have dimples? How do Newton’s laws impact your drive off the first tee? At the May STEM Café, NIU Physics Department chair and golf enthusiast Larry Lurio explains the roles that science, technology, engineering, and math play in the game of golf.

NIU Men’s Head Golf Coach Tom Porten will join Dr. Lurio and demonstrate how the Huskie Golf team applies STEM principles to win games.

Golf team members will demonstrate new technologies for improving their games as NIU prepares to host the 2017 NCAA Division I Golf Championships at Rich Harvest Farms in Sugar Grove.
